Rhubee’s Xylitol is a low GI options for those wanting to cut sucrose (cane sugar) out of their diet. If you do have diabetes, however, it’s important to consult your doctor or diet professional before incorporating sugar substitutes into your daily diet.

Sweeter than sucrose and with less calories, xylitol is a low GI sugar substitute that can be used in all types of cooking and baking.

Rhubee’s Birch Bark Xylitol is produced from the bark of wild birch trees, which are organically grown in wild plantations in Tanzania. No trees were cut down or destroyed during production.

Our xylitol is produced through a unique fermentation technology (bio-hydrogenation) at low temperatures, without the use of chemicals, and is therefore considered a natural raw polyol.

Xylitol is slowly absorbed and only partially utilised in the body. In addition, the body does not require insulin to metabolise xylitol. For this reason, polyols like xylitol produce a lower glycaemic response than sucrose or glucose.

Don’t feed xylitol to pets!
Ingesting xylitol may result in fatal liver failure in pets, especially dogs.
